स तु कृत्वा सुवेलस्य मतिमारोहणं प्रति ।
लक्ष्मणानुगतो रामः सुग्रीवमिदमब्रवीत् ॥६-३८-१॥
sa tu kṛtvā suvelasya matimārohaṇaṃ prati |
lakṣmaṇānugato rāmaḥ sugrīvamidamabravīt ॥6-38-1॥
Translation
Having decided to ascend Mount Suvela, Shri Rama, followed by Lakshmana, spoke these words to Sugriva.

सुवेल पर्वत पर चढ़ने का विचार करके, लक्ष्मण जिनका अनुसरण कर रहे थे, उन श्रीश्री राम ने सुग्रीव से यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Shri Rama acts here as an astute military commander. The decision to ascend Mount Suvela is strategic, as gaining high ground is essential to survey the enemy city of Lanka before the assault. Lakshmana being described as 'anugata' (following) reinforces his eternal role as Shri Rama's shadow and protector. Shri Rama addresses Sugriva first, adhering to the protocol of consulting his commander-in-chief.
