Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्मिन् मे वर्तते रोषः कीर्तिते राक्षसाधमे ।
यस्यापराधान्नीचस्य वधं द्रक्ष्यामि रक्षसाम् ॥६-३८-६॥
tasmin me vartate roṣaḥ kīrtite rākṣasādhame |
yasyāparādhānnīcasya vadhaṃ drakṣyāmi rakṣasām ॥6-38-6॥
Translation
'My anger is stirred just by the mention of that lowest of Rakshasas. Because of the crime of that one base person, I shall now witness the slaughter of Rakshasas.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'उस नीच राक्षसाधम (राक्षसों में सबसे अधम) का नाम लेने पर ही मुझे क्रोध आ जाता है। जिस एक के अपराध के कारण अब मैं (समस्त) राक्षसों का वध देखूंगा।'
English Commentary
Shri Rama's 'roṣa' (anger) here is righteous. He laments that the punishment for the sins of one king (Ravana) will be borne by his entire race. By calling him 'rākṣasādhama' (lowest of demons), he expresses his disdain. This verse underscores the responsibility of leadership—the sin of the king leads to the destruction of his people.

श्री राम का क्रोध 'रोष' यहाँ धर्म से प्रेरित है। वे दुखी हैं कि एक राजा (रावण) के पापों का दंड उसकी पूरी प्रजा (राक्षस जाति) को भोगना पड़ेगा। 'राक्षसाधम' कहकर वे रावण के प्रति अपनी घृणा व्यक्त करते हैं। यह श्लोक नेतृत्व की जिम्मेदारी को रेखांकित करता है—राजा का पाप प्रजा का विनाश लाता है।
