रावणस्य पुरीं रामो ददर्श सह वानरैः ।
तां महाग्रहसंबाधां दृष्ट्वा लक्ष्मणपूर्वजः ॥६-३९-२८॥ नगरीममरप्रख्यां विस्मयं प्राप वीर्यवान् ॥ ॥६-३९-२८॥
rāvaṇasya purīṃ rāmo dadarśa saha vānaraiḥ |
tāṃ mahāgrahasaṃbādhāṃ dṛṣṭvā lakṣmaṇapūrvajaḥ |

nagarīmamaraprakhyāṃ vismayaṃ prāpa vīryavān ॥6-39-28॥
Translation
...Shri Rama saw Ravana's city along with the monkeys. Seeing that city, crowded with great 'grahas' (could mean crocodiles in moat, or fierce warriors like planets) and resembling a city of immortals, the valiant Shri Rama was filled with wonder.

...वानरों के साथ रावण की पुरी को देखा। उस महान 'ग्रह' (मगरमच्छ/सैनिक?) से भरी हुई, अमरावती जैसी नगरी को देखकर, वीर लक्ष्मण-अग्रज (श्री राम) को विस्मय हुआ।
English Commentary
Even the stoic Shri Rama is struck with wonder (vismayam prapa). Comparing it to a city of immortals (amaraprakhyam) acknowledges its splendor. The term mahagraha likely refers to the dangers lurking within—be it the moats filled with crocodiles or the city filled with fierce warriors. It sets the scale of the challenge: conquering a paradise turned into a fortress.

श्री राम भी 'विस्मय' (आश्चर्य) को प्राप्त हुए। एक वनवासी तपस्वी के रूप में, स्वर्णमयी लंका का वैभव अद्भुत था। 'महाग्रहसंबाधाम्' का अर्थ जलजंतुओं से भरी खाई या क्रूर सैनिकों से भरी नगरी हो सकता है। शत्रु के घर की भव्यता को स्वीकारना श्री राम की तटस्थता और अवलोकन शक्ति को दर्शाता है।
