YUDDHA KANDA•SARGA: 4•SHLOKA: 101
इहेदानीं विचिन्ता सा या नः पूर्वं समुत्थिता ।
अतः परमतीरोऽयं सागरः सरितां पतिः ॥६-४-१०१॥
ihedānīṃ vicintā sā yā naḥ pūrvaṃ samutthitā । ataḥ paramatīro'yaṃ sāgaraḥ saritāṃ patiḥ ॥6-4-101॥
Translation
'Here now is that anxiety which arose in us before. Beyond this, the Ocean, the lord of rivers, is shoreless/limitless.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'यहाँ अब वही चिंता (सामने) है जो हमारे मन में पहले उठी थी। यह सरिताओं का पति सागर यहाँ से आगे अपार (जिसका दूसरा तट न दिखे) है।'
English Commentary
The dilemma returns. The anxiety ('vicinta') about the crossing is no longer theoretical. The ocean is described as 'atira' (without shore/limitless), emphasizing the impossibility of crossing it by ordinary means.
हिंदी टीका
चिंता का विषय। सर्ग 1 में श्री राम ने जो चिंता व्यक्त की थी (सागर कैसे पार करेंगे?), वह अब प्रत्यक्ष सामने खड़ी है। 'अतीरः' (जिसका तीर/किनारा न हो) शब्द समुद्र की विशालता और समस्या की गंभीरता को बताता है।
