दूषयेयुर्दुरात्मानः पथि मूलफलोदकम् ।
राक्षसाः परिरक्षेथास्तेभ्यस्त्वं नित्यमुद्यतः ॥६-४-१२॥
dūṣayeyurdurātmānaḥ pathi mūlaphalodakam । rākṣasāḥ parirakṣethāstebhyastvaṃ nityamudyataḥ ॥6-4-12॥
Translation
The evil-minded Rakshasas might poison/contaminate the roots, fruits, and water along the path. Therefore, remaining ever vigilant, you must protect these (resources) from them.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे दुरात्मा राक्षस रास्ते में मूल, फल और जल को दूषित (विषाक्त) कर सकते हैं। अतः तुम नित्य सावधान (उद्यत) रहकर उन (राक्षसों) से इनकी रक्षा करना।
English Commentary
Shri Rama anticipates sabotage—specifically the poisoning of logistics by the lurking Rakshasas. This instruction to 'protect the supply chain' demonstrates Shri Rama's pragmatic understanding of warfare beyond just combat.
