निम्नेषु गिरिदुर्गेषु वनेषु च वनौकसः ।
अभिप्लुत्याभिपश्येयुः परेषां निहितं बलम् ॥६-४-१३॥
nimneṣu giridurgeṣu vaneṣu ca vanaukasaḥ । abhiplutyābhipaśyeyuḥ pareṣāṃ nihitaṃ balam ॥6-4-13॥
Translation
Let the monkeys (forest-dwellers) leap into depressions, mountain strongholds, and forests to see/scout for the hidden forces of the enemy.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वानर (सैनिक) नीचे स्थानों (खाियों), पर्वतीय दुर्गों और वनों में कूदकर/जाकर देखें कि कहीं शत्रुओं की छिपी हुई सेना तो नहीं है।
English Commentary
Counter-ambush tactics. Shri Rama orders proactive scouting of potential ambush sites like ravines ('nimneshu') and thickets. The vanguard must clear the area of enemy guerillas ('nihitam balam') before the main body passes.

एम्बुश (Ambush) से बचने की तैयारी। श्री राम निर्देश देते हैं कि हर झाड़ी, गुफा और खाई की तलाशी ली जाए। 'निहितं बलम्' (छिपी हुई सेना) का पता लगाना आवश्यक है ताकि मुख्य सेना सुरक्षित रहे।
