सागरं चाम्बरप्रख्यमम्बरं सागरोपमम् ।
सागरं चाम्बरं चेति निर्विशेषमदृश्यत ॥६-४-१२०॥
sāgaraṃ cāmbaraprakhyamambaraṃ sāgaropamam । sāgaraṃ cāmbaraṃ ceti nirviśeṣamadṛśyata ॥6-4-120॥
Translation
The ocean looked like the sky, and the sky looked like the ocean. 'This is ocean and this is sky'—no distinction could be seen between the two.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सागर आकाश जैसा दिखता था और आकाश सागर जैसा। 'यह सागर है और यह आकाश है'—इन दोनों में कोई भेद (विशेष) नहीं दिखाई देता था।
English Commentary
Visual merging. A famous verse illustrating the optical illusion at the horizon where sea and sky merge. It emphasizes the infinite nature of the barrier facing Shri Rama.

अनन्वय अलंकार और उपमेयोपमा। क्षितिज (Horizon) पर आकाश और समुद्र एक हो गए हैं। दोनों नीले और अनंत हैं। यह दृश्य विशालता (Vastness) का अनुभव कराता है।
