अन्योन्यमाहताः सक्ताः सस्वनुर्भीमनिःस्वनाः ।
ऊर्मयः सिन्धुराजस्य महाभेर्य इवाहवे ॥६-४-१२३॥
anyonyamāhatāḥ saktāḥ sasvanurbhīmaniḥsvanāḥ । ūrmayaḥ sindhurājasya mahābherya ivāhave ॥6-4-123॥
Translation
Striking one another and continuous, the waves of the King of Rivers roared terribly like great drums in a battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सिन्धुराज (सागर) की लहरें, जो एक-दूसरे से टकरा रही थीं और लगी हुई थीं, युद्ध में बजने वाली बड़ी भेरियों (नगाड़ों) की भांति भयानक शब्द कर रही थीं।
English Commentary
The sound of war. The crashing waves mimic 'Mahabherya' (great war drums). It sets a martial tone, as if the ocean is challenging Shri Rama to a duel.

युद्ध का संगीत। लहरों के टकराने की आवाज 'रणभेरी' (War drums) जैसी है। मानो समुद्र स्वयं युद्ध की घोषणा कर रहा हो।
