यास्यामि बलमध्येऽहं बलौघमभिहर्षयन् ।
अधिरुह्य हनूमन्तमैरावतमिवेश्वरः ॥६-४-१९॥
yāsyāmi balamadhye'haṃ balaughamabhiharṣayan । adhiruhya hanūmantamairāvatamiveśvaraḥ ॥6-4-19॥
Translation
I shall march in the center of the army, encouraging the troops, riding on Hanuman just as the Lord (Indra) rides on Airavata.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं सेना के विशाल समूह को हर्षित (प्रोत्साहित) करता हुआ, सेना के मध्य में हनुमान पर वैसे ही आरूढ़ होकर चलूँगा, जैसे देवराज इन्द्र ऐरावत हाथी पर चलते हैं।
English Commentary
A defining iconographic moment. Shri Rama chooses Hanuman as his mount. Devotionally, this signifies the Lord resting entirely on the support of His devotee. The simile of Indra on Airavata elevates the stature of both Shri Rama and Hanuman. Being in the 'balamadhye' allows Shri Rama to command efficiently.

यह श्री रामायण का एक प्रतिष्ठित दृश्य है। श्री राम पैदल नहीं, बल्कि हनुमान के कंधों पर सवार होकर चलेंगे। यह 'भक्त-भगवान' संबंध का सर्वोच्च शिखर है। हनुमान श्री राम के वाहन बन गए हैं। सेना के 'मध्य' में रहना राजा की सुरक्षा और नियंत्रण दोनों के लिए आवश्यक है।
