यां निवेदयसे लङ्कां पुरीं भीमस्य रक्षसः ।
क्षिप्रमेनां मथिष्यामि सत्यमेतद्ब्रवीमि ते ॥६-४-२॥
yāṃ nivedayase laṅkāṃ purīṃ bhīmasya rakṣasaḥ । kṣipramenāṃ mathiṣyāmi satyametadbarvīmi te ॥6-4-2॥
Translation
The city of Lanka of the terrible Rakshasa, which you describe—I will crush/churn it soon; I speak this truth to you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भीषण राक्षस (रावण) की जिस लंका पुरी का वर्णन तुम कर रहे हो, मैं शीघ्र ही उसका मन्थन (विनाश) कर डालूँगा; मैं तुमसे यह सत्य कहता हूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's vow. The verb 'mathishyami' (I will churn/crush) is potent, evoking the image of churning the ocean. It implies a total upheaval of Ravana's citadel. By asserting 'I speak this truth', Shri Rama binds himself to the outcome, validating Hanuman's reconnaissance with a promise of action.

श्री राम की प्रतिज्ञा। 'मथिष्यामि' शब्द का अर्थ है 'मथ डालना' (जैसे समुद्र मंथन)। यह केवल जीतने की बात नहीं है, बल्कि लंका के अहंकार को जड़ से हिला देने का संकल्प है। श्री राम का 'सत्यमेतद्ब्रवीमि ते' कहना, हनुमान के प्रति आश्वासन है कि उनकी मेहनत व्यर्थ नहीं जाएगी।
