YUDDHA KANDA•SARGA: 4•SHLOKA: 47
शुभानि तव पश्यामि सर्वाण्येवार्थसिद्धये ।
अनुवाति शुभो वायुः सेनां मृदुहितः सुखः ॥६-४-४७॥
śubhāni tava paśyāmi sarvāṇyevārthasiddhaye । anuvāti śubho vāyuḥ senāṃ mṛduhitaḥ sukhaḥ ॥6-4-47॥
Translation
'I see all auspicious signs for the success of your mission. A propitious, gentle, and pleasant breeze is blowing behind (following) the army.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'मैं आपके अर्थ (उद्देश्य) की सिद्धि के लिए सभी शुभ शकुन देख रहा हूँ। यह कल्याणकारी, कोमल और सुखद वायु सेना के पीछे से (अनुकूल दिशा में) बह रही है।'
English Commentary
Wind direction is crucial. A tailwind ('anuvati') assists the march and archery. Lakshmana notes the wind is 'mridu' (gentle) and 'sukha' (pleasant), physically comforting the marching troops.
हिंदी टीका
हवा की दिशा। प्राचीन युद्ध में 'अनुवाति' (पीछे से बहने वाली/Anabatic) हवा शुभ मानी जाती थी क्योंकि यह बाणों की गति बढ़ाती है और सैनिकों को थकाती नहीं। सामने से आती हवा अशुभ होती है।
