मूलो मूलवता स्पृष्टो धूप्यते धूमकेतुना ।
सर्वं चैतद्विनाशाय राक्षसानामुपस्थितम् ॥६-४-५३॥
mūlo mūlavatā spṛṣṭo dhūpyate dhūmaketunā । sarvaṃ caitadvināśāya rākṣasānāmupasthitam ॥6-4-53॥
Translation
'The Mula nakshatra is touched/struck by a comet (Dhumaketu) and is tormented. All this has appeared for the destruction of the Rakshasas.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'मूल नक्षत्र, धूमकेतु (पुच्छल तारे) से आक्रांत (स्पृष्ट) होकर धुआँ छोड़ रहा है (पीड़ित है)। यह सब राक्षसों के विनाश के लिए उपस्थित हुआ है।'
English Commentary
The fatal omen. A comet ('Dhumaketu') striking the Mula nakshatra is interpreted as a cosmic death sentence for the Rakshasa race. This strengthens the conviction that the universe wills their destruction.

धूमकेतु का प्रभाव। ज्योतिष में धूमकेतु द्वारा नक्षत्र का भेदन विनाशकारी माना जाता है। चूंकि यह मूल (राक्षस नक्षत्र) को काट रहा है, रावण का पतन निश्चित है।
