गिरिप्रस्थेषु रम्येषु सर्वतः संप्रपुष्पिताः ।
केतक्यः सिन्दुवाराश्च वासन्त्यश्च मनोरमाः ॥६-४-८०॥
giriprastheṣu ramyeṣu sarvataḥ saṃprapuṣpitāḥ । ketakyaḥ sinduvārāśca vāsantyaśca manoramāḥ ॥6-4-80॥
Translation
On the beautiful mountain slopes, Ketaki, Sinduvara, and charming Vasanti creepers were in full bloom everywhere.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पर्वत के रमणीय ढलानों (प्रस्थों) पर सब ओर केतकी, सिन्दुवार और मनोरम वासन्ती (माधवी) लताएं पूरी तरह खिली हुई थीं।
English Commentary
Floral carpet. The slopes are covered in blooming creepers like Ketaki and Vasanti. This emphasizes the richness of the southern lands the army is traversing.

पुष्पों की बहार। केतकी और माधवी जैसी सुगंधित लताओं का वर्णन। यद्यपि यह युद्ध यात्रा है, वाल्मीकि जी प्रकृति के सौंदर्य वर्णन का लोभ नहीं छोड़ते।
