पद्मैः सौगन्धिकैः फुल्लैः कुमुदैश्चोत्पलैस्तथा ।
वारिजैर्विविधैः पुष्पे रम्यास्तत्र जलाशयाः ॥६-४-८८॥
padmaiḥ saugandhikaiḥ phullaiḥ kumudaiścotpalaistathā । vārijairvividhaiḥ puṣpe ramyāstatra jalāśayāḥ ॥6-4-88॥
Translation
The reservoirs there were beautiful with blooming Lotuses, Saugandhika flowers, water-lilies (Kumuda), Utpalas, and various other aquatic flowers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ के जलाशय खिले हुए कमलों (पद्म), सौगन्धिक, कुमुद, उत्पल और विविध प्रकार के जल-पुष्पों से रमणीय लग रहे थे।
English Commentary
Aquatic flora. The lakes are decked with various types of lotuses and lilies, making them 'ramya' (delightful). The contrast between the varied colors of flowers is implied.

जलाशयों का सौंदर्य। कमल और कुमुद भारत के जलाशयों की शोभा हैं। 'सौगन्धिक' एक विशेष सुगंधित कमल होता है। यह सौंदर्य वानरों को आकर्षित करता है।
