ततो रामः सुवेलाग्रं योजनद्वयमण्डलम् ।
आरुरोह ससुग्रीवो हरियूथपसंवृतः ॥६-४०-१॥
tato rāmaḥ suvelāgraṃ yojanadvayamaṇḍalam |
āruroha sasugrīvo hariyūthapasaṃvṛtaḥ ॥6-40-1॥
Translation
Thereafter, accompanied by Sugriva and surrounded by the leaders of the monkey-army, Shri Rama ascended the peak of Mount Suvela, which had a circumference of two yojanas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, श्री राम ने सुग्रीव और वानर यूथपतियों के साथ सुवेल पर्वत के उस शिखर पर आरोहण किया, जिसका विस्तार दो योजन के घेरे में था।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's ascent of Mount Suvela marks the beginning of the final phase of the campaign. Strategically, this height provides a panoramic view of Lanka, allowing the alliance to survey the enemy's stronghold. The presence of Sugriva and the monkey commanders signifies a unified front and a shared resolve. The vastness of the peak (two yojanas) symbolizes the grand scale of the righteous mission Shri Rama has undertaken.

श्री राम का सुवेल पर्वत पर चढ़ना युद्ध के अंतिम चरण की शुरुआत है। यह स्थान रणनीतिक रूप से अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यहाँ से पूरी लंका का अवलोकन किया जा सकता है। सुग्रीव और अन्य वानर वीरों का उनके साथ होना उनके अटूट गठबंधन और सामूहिक संकल्प को दर्शाता है। पर्वत की विशालता (दो योजन) उस विशाल उत्तरदायित्व का प्रतीक है जिसे श्री राम अपने कंधों पर उठाए हुए हैं।
