स्थित्वा मुहूर्तं तत्रैव दिशो दश विलोकयन् ।
त्रिकूटशिखरे रम्ये निर्मितां विश्वकर्मणा ॥६-४०-२॥
sthitvā muhūrtaṃ tatraiva diśo daśa vilokayan |
trikūṭaśikhare ramye nirmitāṃ viśvakarmaṇā ॥6-40-2॥
Translation
Staying there for a while and observing all ten directions, He saw the city built by Vishwakarma on the beautiful peak of Mount Trikuta—

English Commentary
Shri Rama’s act of scanning all ten directions highlights His vigilance and strategic foresight as a supreme commander. The mention of Vishwakarma, the celestial architect, as the creator of Lanka emphasizes the city's unparalleled structural integrity and aesthetic beauty. Even while viewing the stronghold of His enemy, the narrative acknowledges the city as 'Ramya' (beautiful), showing the objective appreciation of excellence in the epic.
