इत्युक्त्वा सहसोत्पत्य पुप्लुवे तस्य चोपरि ।
आकृष्य मकुटं चित्रं पातयामास तद्भुवि ॥६-४०-११॥
ityuktvā sahasotpātya pupluve tasya copari |
ākṛṣya makuṭaṃ citraṃ pātayāmāsa tadbhuvi ॥6-40-11॥
Translation
Saying this, he suddenly sprang up and leaped upon him (Ravana). Snatching his wonderful crown, he cast it down to the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहकर वे सहसा उछले और उसके (रावण के) ऊपर कूद पड़े। उन्होंने उसके विचित्र (सुन्दर) मुकुट को खींच लिया और उसे भूमि पर पटक दिया।
English Commentary
Knocking off Ravana’s crown is a powerful symbolic act representing the downfall of his pride and sovereignty. Since the crown is the ultimate symbol of royal authority, Sugriva casting it to the dust signifies the imminent end of Ravana’s reign. The sheer speed and audacity of this move leave the otherwise vigilant Rakshasa king momentarily stunned.
हिंदी टीका
रावण के मुकुट को गिराना केवल एक भौतिक क्रिया नहीं, बल्कि प्रतीकात्मक रूप से उसके अहंकार और सत्ता के पतन की घोषणा है। मुकुट राजा की गरिमा का प्रतीक होता है, और सुग्रीव द्वारा उसे धूल में मिला देना यह दर्शाता है कि रावण का ऐश्वर्य अब समाप्त होने वाला है। सुग्रीव की गति इतनी तीव्र थी कि रावण को संभलने का अवसर भी नहीं मिला।
