बाहूत्तमैर्वारणवारणाभैर्निवारयन्तौ वरवारणाभौ ।
चिरेण कालेन तु संप्रयुक्तौ सचेरतुर्मण्डलमार्गमाशु ॥६-४०-२१॥
bāhūttamairvāraṇavāraṇābhairnivārayantau varavāraṇābhau |
cireṇa kālena tu saṃprayuktau saceraturmaṇḍalamārgamāśu ॥6-40-21॥
Translation
The two heroes, resembling mighty elephants, parried each other's blows with their excellent arms which were like elephant trunks. After a long time of fighting, they quickly began moving in circular paths.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्रेष्ठ हाथियों के समान पराक्रमी वे दोनों, हाथी की सूँड के समान अपनी श्रेष्ठ भुजाओं से एक-दूसरे के प्रहारों को रोकते हुए, काफी समय तक भिड़ने के बाद अब शीघ्रता से मण्डलाकार (गोलाकार) मार्ग में घूमने लगे।
English Commentary
Likening their arms to elephant trunks emphasizes their muscularity and flexibility. The transition to 'Mandalamarga' (circular movements) indicates a tactical shift in the fight, where the combatants move in circles to find an opening or to exhaust the opponent's guard. It shows the duel evolving from a clash of force to a game of strategy.

भुजाओं की तुलना हाथी की सूँड से करना उनकी मोटाई और शक्ति को दर्शाता है। 'मण्डलमार्ग' युद्ध का एक विशिष्ट पैंतरा है जहाँ योद्धा गोल घूमते हुए वार के लिए अवसर तलाशते हैं। यह पैंतरा यह सूचित करता है कि अब युद्ध अधिक तकनीकी और रणनीतिक हो गया है।
