अथ हरिवरनाथः प्राप्य संग्रामकीर्तिं निशिचरपतिमाजौ योजयित्वा श्रमेण ।
गगनमतिविशालं लङ्घयित्वार्कसूनुर्हरिवरगणमध्ये रामपार्श्वं जगाम ॥६-४०-२९॥
atha harivaranāthaḥ prāpya saṃgrāmakīrtiṃ niśicarapatimājau yojayitvā śrameṇa |
gaganamativisālaṃ laṅghayitvārkasūnurharivaragaṇamadhye rāmapārśvaṃ jagāma ॥6-40-29॥
Translation
Thus, having earned glory in the duel and having exhausted the King of the night-stalkers in battle, Sugriva, the son of the Sun-god, crossed the vast sky and returned to the side of Shri Rama amidst the host of monkey-heroes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार युद्ध में यश प्राप्त करके और राक्षसराज को अत्यधिक थकाकर, सूर्यपुत्र सुग्रीव विशाल आकाश को लांघकर वानर वीरों के बीच श्री राम के पास पहुँच गए।
English Commentary
Addressing Sugriva as 'Arkasunu' (son of the Sun) reminds us of his celestial origin and brilliance. He attained 'Sangramakirti' (glory in battle) by being the first to directly challenge Ravana in his capital. His return to Shri Rama’s side signifies his devotion and role as an ally who prioritizes the mission over personal vendetta, boosting the morale of the entire army.

सुग्रीव को 'अर्कसूनु' (सूर्यपुत्र) कहा गया है, जो उनके तेज का आधार है। उन्होंने 'संग्रामकीर्ति' प्राप्त की क्योंकि वे अकेले रावण से भिड़ने का साहस कर पाए। श्री राम के पास वापस जाना उनकी शरणागति और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा को दर्शाता है। उनका यह कृत्य पूरी वानर सेना के उत्साह को बढ़ाने वाला था।
