स्थित्वा मुहूर्ते संप्रेक्ष्य निर्भयेनान्तरात्मना ।
तृणीकृत्य च तद्रक्षः सोऽब्रवीत्परुषं वचः ॥६-४०-९॥
sthitvā muhūrte saṃprekṣya nirbhayenāntarātmanā |
tṛṇīkṛtya ca tadrakṣaḥ so'bravītparuṣaṃ vacaḥ ॥6-40-9॥
Translation
Standing there for a moment, looking at that Rakshasa with a fearless heart and treating him as insignificant as a blade of grass, he (Sugriva) spoke these harsh words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ एक क्षण ठहरकर, निर्भय होकर उस राक्षस (रावण) को देखते हुए और उसे तिनके के समान तुच्छ समझते हुए, उन्होंने (सुग्रीव ने) ये कठोर वचन कहे।
English Commentary
Sugriva’s disdain for Ravana, treating him like a 'blade of grass' (Trinikritya), is the pinnacle of bravery. Standing before the tyrant who terrorized the three worlds, Sugriva’s fearlessness stems from the divine backing of Shri Rama. This psychological superiority shows that a righteous warrior, fueled by truth, views even the most powerful oppressor as insignificant.
हिंदी टीका
सुग्रीव का रावण को 'तिनके के समान' (तृणीकृत्य) समझना उनकी निडरता का चरम है। जिस रावण से तीनों लोक कांपते थे, उसके सामने खड़े होकर सुग्रीव का यह भाव दर्शाता है कि श्री राम की मैत्री ने उनमें कितना आत्मविश्वास भर दिया है। उनकी निर्भयता उनके 'अन्तरात्मा' की शुद्धि और उद्देश्य की सत्यता से उपजी है।
