लोकक्षयकरं भीमं भयं पश्याम्युपस्थितम् ।
निवर्हणं प्रवीराणामृक्षवानररक्षसाम् ॥६-४१-१२॥
lokakṣayakaraṃ bhīmaṃ bhayaṃ paśyāmyupasthitam |
nivarhaṇaṃ pravīrāṇāmṛkṣavānararakṣasām ॥6-41-12॥
Translation
I foresee a terrible calamity approaching that will cause the destruction of the worlds, involving the annihilation of the foremost heroes among the bears, monkeys, and demons.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं देख रहा हूँ कि लोकों का क्षय करने वाला भयानक भय (संकट) उपस्थित है, जिसमें ऋक्ष (भालू), वानर और राक्षसों के प्रमुख वीरों का विनाश होगा।
English Commentary
Shri Rama articulates a grim prophecy based on his observation of omens. He foresees a 'lokakshayakaram' event—a cataclysm causing massive loss of life. He explicitly states that this war will claim the lives of the best warriors on both sides, including his own bears and monkeys, not just the demons. This reflects the brutal reality of war; even a righteous dharmayuddha involves immense sacrifice. Shri Rama prepares his inner circle for the inevitable carnage.

भगवान श्री राम पुनः शकुनों और अपने अंतर्ज्ञान के आधार पर भविष्य कथन करते हैं। वे स्पष्ट रूप से देख रहे हैं कि आने वाला युद्ध सामान्य नहीं होगा। यह 'लोकक्षयकर' (जनसंहार करने वाला) होगा। इसमें न केवल शत्रु पक्ष का, बल्कि अपने पक्ष के (वानर और ऋक्ष) वीरों का भी विनाश होगा। एक यथार्थवादी नेता के रूप में, श्री राम अपनी सेना को और अपने भाई को उस कठोर सत्य के लिए मानसिक रूप से तैयार कर रहे हैं जो विजय की कीमत के रूप में चुकाना होगा।
