रजन्यामप्रकाशश्च संतापयति चन्द्रमाः ।
कृष्णरक्तांशुपर्यन्तो यथा लोकस्य संक्षये ॥६-४१-१७॥
rajanyāmaprakāśaśca saṃtāpayati candramāḥ |
kṛṣṇaraktāṃśuparyanto yathā lokasya saṃkṣaye ॥6-41-17॥
Translation
At night, the moon gives no light and causes burning heat; surrounded by black and red rays, it appears as it does at the time of the world's destruction.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रात्रि में चंद्रमा प्रकाशहीन होकर संताप दे रहा है और वह काले तथा लाल रंग की किरणों से घिरा हुआ है, मानो लोक के प्रलय का समय हो।
English Commentary
The moon, traditionally the source of soothing nectar-like light, has become a source of torment ('santapayati'), inverting its natural quality. The black and red halo indicates a malefic atmospheric condition. Comparing this to the 'lokasya samkshaye' (end of the world) elevates the significance of the battle—it is not just a territorial war, but a cosmic event akin to the dissolution of an age.

चंद्रमा जो शीतलता का प्रतीक है, वह अब 'संताप' (जलन/कष्ट) दे रहा है। यह प्रकृति के विपरीत व्यवहार का उदाहरण है। चंद्रमा के चारों ओर काला और लाल घेरा (परिवेश) प्रलयकाल जैसा दृश्य उपस्थित कर रहा है। यह इस बात का संकेत है कि लंका के लिए अब शीतलता और शांति का समय समाप्त हो चुका है और केवल दाह (विनाश) शेष है।
