ह्रस्वो रूक्षोऽप्रशस्तश्च परिवेशः सुलोहितः ।
आदित्यमण्डले नीलं लक्ष्म लक्ष्मण दृश्यते ॥६-४१-१८॥
hrasvo rūkṣo'praśastaśca pariveśaḥ sulohitaḥ |
ādityamaṇḍale nīlaṃ lakṣma lakṣmaṇa dṛśyate ॥6-41-18॥
Translation
There is a short, rough, inauspicious, and deep red halo around the sun. O Lakshmana! A blue mark is visible within the solar disc.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सूर्य के चारों ओर छोटा, रूखा, अशुभ और अत्यंत लाल घेरा (परिवेश) है। हे लक्ष्मण! सूर्यमंडल में नीला धब्बा (चिह्न) दिखाई दे रहा है।
English Commentary
Detailed solar omens are described. A 'parivesha' (halo) that is rough and red, along with a blue spot ('nilam lakshma') on the sun, are technically specific omens in Jyotisha Shastra predicting calamity for the ruling power. By pointing these out to Lakshmana, Shri Rama validates the necessity of the war—the cosmos itself has signaled that the end of the current regime is mandated by time (Kala).

यहाँ सूर्य पर दिखने वाले अशुभ लक्षणों का वर्णन है। 'परिवेश' (सूर्य के चारों ओर का घेरा) का छोटा और लाल होना तथा सूर्य में काला/नीला धब्बा दिखना, ये सब राजा की मृत्यु या महाविनाश के शास्त्रीय लक्षण हैं। श्री राम लक्ष्मण को विशेष रूप से संबोधित करते हुए कहते हैं 'पश्य लक्ष्मण' (देखो लक्ष्मण), जो यह दर्शाता है कि वे अपने भाई को इन संकेतों का साक्षी बना रहे हैं।
