ततः पश्चात्सु महती पृतनर्क्षवनौकसाम् ।
प्रच्छाद्य महतीं भूमिमनुयाति स्म राघवम् ॥६-४१-२८॥
tataḥ paścātsu mahatī pṛtanarkṣavanaukasām |
pracchādya mahatīṃ bhūmimanuyāti sma rāghavam ॥6-41-28॥
Translation
Thereafter, the very great army of bears and forest-dwellers (monkeys) followed Raghava, covering the vast earth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसके बाद, ऋक्षों और वानरों की वह अत्यंत विशाल सेना विशाल भूमि को आच्छादित करती हुई (ढकती हुई) राघव के पीछे चली।
English Commentary
Following the commanders is the rank and file. The magnitude of the army is emphasized by the hyperbole that they 'covered the vast earth'. The visual is of a moving carpet of warriors completely obscuring the ground as they follow their leader.

मुख्य वीरों के पीछे जनसैलाब है। सेना इतनी विशाल है कि उसने भूमि को 'प्रच्छाद्य' (ढक) लिया है। अब जमीन नहीं, केवल वानर दिख रहे हैं। यह वर्णन आक्रमण के पैमाने (scale) को दर्शाता है।
