संशये स्थाप्य मां चेदं बलं च सविभीषणम् ।
कष्टं कृतमिदं वीर साहसं साहसप्रिय ॥६-४१-३॥
saṃśaye sthāpya māṃ cedaṃ balaṃ ca savibhīṣaṇam |
kaṣṭaṃ kṛtamidaṃ vīra sāhasaṃ sāhasapriya ॥6-41-3॥
Translation
O Hero! O one who loves daring deeds! By placing me, along with Vibhishana and this entire army, in jeopardy, you have committed a grievous and rash act.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वीर! हे साहसप्रिय! मुझे, विभीषण सहित इस पूरी सेना को संशय (संकट) में डालकर तुमने यह कष्टदायक दुस्साहस किया है।
English Commentary
Shri Rama addresses Sugriva as 'sahasapriya' (lover of adventure/rashness), a term that acknowledges his bravery while criticizing his lack of foresight. Shri Rama clarifies the stakes: the safety of the entire alliance, including the vulnerable Vibhishana, depends on Sugriva. Had Sugriva fallen, the mission to rescue Sita and install Vibhishana would have collapsed. This verse underscores the interconnectedness of their destinies and how individual impulsiveness can jeopardize the collective dharma.

श्री राम सुग्रीव को 'साहसप्रिय' (जिसे साहस पसंद हो) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, जो एक साथ प्रशंसा और उलाहना दोनों है। श्री राम स्पष्ट करते हैं कि राजा की सुरक्षा से ही पूरी सेना और सहयोगियों (जैसे विभीषण) का भविष्य जुड़ा है। यदि सुग्रीव को कुछ हो जाता, तो श्री राम का सीता-उद्धार का संकल्प और विभीषण का राज्याभिषेक, सब कुछ संकट में पड़ जाता। यह श्लोक बताता है कि सामूहिक प्रयासों में व्यक्तिगत आवेग कैसे पूरे मिशन को खतरे में डाल सकता है।
