English Commentary
Shri Rama observes the stockpile of weaponry ('ayudhajalani') and armor, confirming the enemy is heavily mobilized. The focus shifts to the deployment of other generals. Nila, the commander-in-chief of the Vanaras, takes the Eastern Gate. This corresponds to the standard strategic matchup, as he would face Prahasta (Ravana's chief general) there.

श्री राम ने वहाँ हथियारों के ढेर और कवच देखे, जो युद्ध की भारी तैयारियों का सबूत थे। अब व्यूहरचना का अगला हिस्सा बताया जा रहा है। वानर सेनापति नील ने पूर्वी द्वार (East Gate) का मोर्चा संभाला। प्रहस्त (रावण का सेनापति) प्रायः पूर्वी द्वार पर होता था, इसलिए नील का वहाँ होना महत्वपूर्ण है (नील ने ही बाद में प्रहस्त का वध किया)।
