लङ्काद्वाराण्युपाजग्मुरन्ये योद्धुं समन्ततः ।
आवृतः स गिरिः सर्वैस्तैः समन्तात्प्लवङ्गमैः ॥६-४१-५२॥
laṅkādvārāṇyupājagmuranye yoddhuṃ samantataḥ |
āvṛtaḥ sa giriḥ sarvaistaiḥ samantātplavaṅgamaiḥ ॥6-41-52॥
Translation
Other monkeys reached the gates of Lanka to fight from all sides. That entire mountain was covered on all sides by those monkeys.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अन्य वानर युद्ध करने के लिए लंका के द्वारों के पास पहुँच गए। वह पूरा पर्वत (त्रिकूट/सुवेल) उन प्लवंगमों (वानरों) से सब ओर से घिर गया था।
English Commentary
The geography involves the Trikuta mountain. The monkeys swarmed not just the gates but the geological foundation of the city itself. The siege was total—vertical and horizontal. The mountain appeared alive with the moving masses of the Vanaras.
हिंदी टीका
लंका त्रिकूट पर्वत पर स्थित थी। वानरों ने केवल शहर को नहीं, बल्कि उस पूरे पहाड़ को ही ढक लिया था जिस पर शहर बसा था। 'प्लवंगम' (उछलने वाले) शब्द बताता है कि वे स्थिर नहीं थे, बल्कि चंचलता से आक्रमण के लिए तैयार थे।
