अयुतानां सहस्रं च पुरीं तामभ्यवर्तत ।
वानरैर्बलवद्भिश्च बभूव द्रुमपाणिभिः ॥६-४१-५३॥
ayutānāṃ sahasraṃ ca purīṃ tāmabhyavartata |
vānarairbalavadbhiśca babhūva drumapāṇibhiḥ ॥6-41-53॥
Translation
A thousand myriads (one crore) of strong monkeys, with trees in their hands, advanced towards that city.
हिंदी अनुवाद
एक करोड़ (अयुतों का हजार गुना) वानर उस पुरी की ओर बढ़े। हाथ में वृक्ष लिए उन बलवान वानरों से वह क्षेत्र भर गया।
English Commentary
The advance begins. The image of warriors holding trees ('drumapanibhih') evokes the idea of nature reclaiming the stone city. It represents a raw, organic force clashing with the artificial fortifications of the Rakshasas.
हिंदी टीका
घेराबंदी पूरी होने के बाद अब 'अभ्यवर्तत' (आगे बढ़ना/आक्रमण की ओर बढ़ना) क्रिया शुरू होती है। हाथ में पेड़ लिए वानरों का आगे बढ़ना ऐसा लग रहा होगा मानो जंगल ही शहर पर चढ़ाई कर रहा हो। प्रकृति (वन) अब सभ्यता (नगर) को दंड देने आ रही थी।
