चतुर्द्वाराणि सर्वाणि सुग्रीववचनात्कपिः ।
पर्यक्रामत दुर्धर्षो नक्षत्राणीव चन्द्रमाः ॥६-४१-९८॥
caturdvārāṇi sarvāṇi sugrīvavacanātkapiḥ |
paryakrāmata durdharṣo nakṣatrāṇīva candramāḥ ॥6-41-98॥
Translation
By the command of Sugriva, that invincible monkey moved about all four gates, just as the Moon moves among the constellations.

सुग्रीव के आदेश से, वह अजेय वानर (अंगद) चारों द्वारों पर उसी प्रकार घूमे जैसे चंद्रमा नक्षत्रों के मध्य घूमता है।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the discipline and agility of the Vanara army under the command of Sugriva. Acting upon the orders, the invincible monkey inspected the four gates of Lanka with absolute fearlessness. The epithet 'durdharsha' (invincible or hard to conquer) emphasizes his valor. The poet uses a beautiful simile, comparing the monkey's movement to the Moon moving gracefully among the constellations (Nakshatras). Just as the Moon traverses the sky unimpeded, the Vanara moved around the enemy's fortifications without fear, signaling the confidence and readiness of Shri Rama's forces.

यहाँ वानर सेना की तत्परता और अनुशासन का अद्भुत वर्णन है। वानरराज सुग्रीव की आज्ञा शिरोधार्य कर, वह वीर वानर लंका के चारों द्वारों का निरीक्षण करने के लिए निकला। 'दुर्धर्ष' शब्द उस वानर के अदम्य साहस को दर्शाता है जिसे कोई हरा नहीं सकता। उपमा अलंकार का प्रयोग करते हुए महर्षि वाल्मीकि कहते हैं कि जैसे चंद्रमा आकाश में नक्षत्रों के बीच बिना किसी बाधा के विचरण करता है, वैसे ही यह वानर शत्रु की नगरी के द्वारों पर निर्भय होकर घूमा। यह श्री राम की सेना के आत्मविश्वास, गतिशीलता और आगामी विजय का स्पष्ट संकेत है।
