जयत्यतिबलो रामो लक्ष्मणश्च महाबलः ।
राजा जयति सुग्रीवो राघवेणाभिपालितः ॥६-४२-२०॥
jayatyatibalo rāmo lakṣmaṇaśca mahābalaḥ |
rājā jayati sugrīvo rāghaveṇābhipālitaḥ ॥6-42-20॥
Translation
'Victory to the extremely powerful Shri Rama! And to the mighty Lakshmana! Victory to King Sugriva, protected by Raghava!'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'अत्यंत बलवान श्री राम की जय हो! महाबली लक्ष्मण की जय हो! और राघव द्वारा पालित (रक्षित) राजा सुग्रीव की जय हो!'
English Commentary
This constitutes the official war cry of the Vanara army. It establishes the hierarchy and the source of their inspiration. They proclaim victory for Shri Rama and Lakshmana first, acknowledging their supreme strength. Interestingly, Sugriva is hailed as 'protected by Raghava,' reinforcing the alliance and acknowledging Shri Rama as the supreme protector. Chanting this collectively creates psychological dominance over the enemy.
