Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आवृत्य बलवांस्तस्थौ हरिभिर्जितकाशिभिः ।
साहाय्यार्थं तु तस्यैव निविष्टः प्रघसो हरिः ॥६-४२-२४॥
āvṛtya balavāṃstasthau haribhirjitakāśibhiḥ |
sāhāyyārthaṃ tu tasyaiva niviṣṭaḥ praghaso hariḥ ॥6-42-24॥
Translation
Blocking it, the mighty one stood with monkeys who shone with (desire for) victory. And for his assistance, the monkey Praghasa was also stationed there.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह बलवान (कुमुद) विजय की अभिलाषा रखने वाले वानरों के साथ (द्वार को) घेरकर डट गया। उसकी सहायता के लिए वानर प्रघस भी वहां डट गया।
English Commentary
Reinforcements are detailed. Praghasa supports Kumuda. The monkeys are described as 'jitakashibhih' (appearing victorious/shining with victory), indicating high morale. Blocking the gate ('avritya') effectively traps the enemy inside, forcing a confrontation on the attackers' terms.

कुमुद को सहायता दी गई। प्रघस नामक वानर उसकी मदद के लिए तैनात हुआ। 'जितकाशिभिः' (जीत की चमक वाले/विजयकांक्षी) विशेषण वानरों के आत्मविश्वास को दर्शाता है। वे केवल लड़ नहीं रहे थे, वे जीतने के लिए आए थे।
