वृतः कोट्या महावीर्यस्तस्थौ रामस्य पार्श्वतः ।
ऋक्षाणां भीमवेगानां धूम्रः शत्रुनिबर्हणः ॥६-४२-२९॥
vṛtaḥ koṭyā mahāvīryastasthau rāmasya pārśvataḥ |
ṛkṣāṇāṃ bhīmavegānāṃ dhūmraḥ śatrunibarhaṇaḥ ॥6-42-29॥
Translation
Surrounded by a Crore of bears of terrible speed, the great warrior Dhumra, the destroyer of enemies, stood by Shri Rama's side.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाला महावीर्यवान धूम्र, भयानक वेग वाले एक करोड़ रीछों (भालुओं) से घिरा हुआ, श्री राम के पार्श्व (बगल) में खड़ा हुआ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama acts as the spearhead, but he is well-supported. Dhumra, a leader of the Rikshas (bears), flanks Shri Rama. The bears are noted for 'bhimavega' (terrible speed) and brute strength. Placing a destroyer of enemies ('shatrunibarhanah') next to Shri Rama ensures the King's flank is secure during the duel with Ravana.

श्री राम की सुरक्षा और सहायता के लिए विशेष व्यवस्था थी। रीछों का राजा धूम्र (जाम्बवान के कुल का) अपनी सेना के साथ श्री राम के बगल में खड़ा था। रीछों को 'भीमवेग' (भयानक गति वाले) कहा गया है। यह संयुक्त सेना का उदाहरण है जहाँ वानर और रीछ साथ लड़ रहे थे।
