वृतः कोट्या महावीर्यस्तस्थौ रामस्य पार्श्वतः ।
संनद्धस्तु महावीर्यो गदापाणिर्विभीषणः ॥६-४२-३०॥
vṛtaḥ koṭyā mahāvīryastasthau rāmasya pārśvataḥ |
saṃnaddhastu mahāvīryo gadāpāṇirvibhīṣaṇaḥ ॥6-42-30॥
Translation
Surrounded by a Crore, armored and holding a mace in his hand, the great warrior Vibhishana stood by Shri Rama's (other) side.
हिंदी अनुवाद
एक करोड़ (सैनिकों) से घिरा हुआ, कवच पहने हुए (संनद्धः), हाथ में गदा लिए हुए महावीर्यवान विभीषण भी श्री राम के (दूसरे) पार्श्व में खड़ा हुआ।
English Commentary
Vibhishana stands as Shri Rama's strategic advisor and bodyguard on the other flank. Being 'sannaddhah' (armored) and 'gadapani' (mace-wielding) shows he is ready for active combat, not just advice. His presence signals to the Rakshasas that one of their own leaders is fighting against them, a significant psychological blow.

विभीषण का स्थान महत्वपूर्ण है। वह 'गदापाणि' (हाथ में गदा लिए) और 'संनद्धः' (कवच पहने/तैयार) है। चूंकि वह लंका के रहस्यों को जानता था, उसका श्री राम के पास होना रणनीतिक रूप से अनिवार्य था। अपने ही भाई के विरुद्ध हथियार उठाना धर्म-संकट था, लेकिन विभीषण ने श्री राम (धर्म) का पक्ष चुना और पूरी तैयारी के साथ खड़े रहे।
