पीड्यमानां स धर्मात्मा वैदेहीमनुचिन्तयन् ।
क्षिप्रमाज्ञापयामास वानरान् द्विषतां वधे ॥६-४२-९॥
pīḍyamānāṃ sa dharmātmā vaidehīmanucintayan |
kṣipramājñāpayāmāsa vānarān dviṣatāṃ vadhe ॥6-42-9॥
Translation
Thinking of the suffering Vaidehi, that righteous one (Shri Rama) quickly ordered the monkeys to destroy the enemies.

पीड़ा सहती हुई वैदेही (सीता) का चिंतन करते हुए, उस धर्मात्मा (श्री राम) ने शत्रुओं के वध के लिए वानरों को शीघ्र आज्ञा दी।
English Commentary
Reflecting on Vaidehi's agony transforms Shri Rama's sorrow into action. Being 'dharmatma' (righteous soul), he realizes that eliminating the tormentors is the path of Dharma. He issues an immediate command ('kshipram ajnapayamasa') for the destruction of the enemies. This verse marks the pivotal transition from contemplation to the onset of actual combat.

सीता के दुख के चिंतन ने श्री राम की निष्क्रियता को समाप्त कर दिया। 'धर्मात्मा' विशेषण यह बताता है कि उनका क्रोध धर्म से प्रेरित है, व्यक्तिगत प्रतिशोध मात्र नहीं। उन्होंने 'क्षिप्रम्' (शीघ्र) आक्रमण का आदेश दिया। सीता की पीड़ा ही इस महायुद्ध की उत्प्रेरक बनी। अब करुणा वीर रस में परिवर्तित हो गई है।
