वज्रमुष्टिस्तु मैन्देन द्विविदेनाशनिप्रभः ।
गजसाभ्यां सुघोराभ्यां कपिमुख्यौ समागतौ ॥६-४३-१२॥
vajramuṣṭistu maindena dvividenāśaniprabhaḥ |
gajasābhyāṃ sughorābhyāṃ kapimukhyau samāgatau ॥6-43-12॥
Translation
Mainda fought with Vajramushti and Dvivida with Ashaniprabha; those prominent monkeys clashed with those two terrible Rakshasas.

मैन्द का वज्रमुष्टि के साथ और द्विविद का अशनिप्रभ के साथ युद्ध हुआ; वे मुख्य वानर उन भयंकर राक्षसों के साथ भिड़ गए।
English Commentary
Mainda and Dvivida, believed to be portions of the Ashwini Kumaras, possess immense strength. Their duel with Vajramushti and Ashaniprabha is like a great clash between equal powers. This combat demonstrates that every commander in the Vanara army is capable of overwhelming the titans of the Rakshasa forces.

मैन्द और द्विविद अश्विनीकुमारों के अंश माने जाते हैं, अतः वे अत्यंत बलवान हैं। वज्रमुष्टि और अशनिप्रभ के विरुद्ध उनका युद्ध दो समान शक्तियों के बीच महासंग्श्री राम जैसा है। यह द्वन्द्व दिखाता है कि वानर सेना का हर सेनापति राक्षसी सेना के दिग्गजों को धूल चटाने की क्षमता रखता है।
