तत्रासीत्सुमहद्युद्धं तुमुलं रोमहर्षणम् ।
रक्षां वानराणां च वीराणां जयमिच्छताम् ॥६-४३-१६॥
tatrāsītsumahadyuddhaṃ tumulaṃ romaharṣaṇam |
rakṣasāṃ vānarāṇāṃ ca vīrāṇāṃ jayamicchatām ॥6-43-16॥
Translation
There took place a very great, tumultuous, and hair-raising battle between the heroic Vanaras and Rakshasas, both desiring victory.

विजय की इच्छा रखने वाले उन वीर वानरों और राक्षसों के बीच वहाँ अत्यंत महान, व्याकुल कर देने वाला और रोंगटे खड़े कर देने वाला युद्ध हुआ।
English Commentary
The intensity of the battle is described as 'Romaharshanam', so fierce that it makes one's hair stand on end. 'Tumulam' signifies the chaos and uproar created by the clash of thousands of warriors. Both sides are not just fighting; they are 'Jayamicchatam'—willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of total victory.
