ते हयैः काञ्चनापीडैर्ध्वजैश्चाग्निशिखोपमैः ।
रथैश्चादित्यसंकाशैः कवचैश्च मनोरमैः ॥६-४३-२॥
te hayaiḥ kāñcanāpīḍairdhvajaiścāgniśikhopamaiḥ |
rathaiścādityasaṃkāśaiḥ kavacaiśca manoramaiḥ ॥6-43-2॥
Translation
Those Rakshasas were equipped with horses adorned with golden ornaments, banners shining like flames of fire, chariots as brilliant as the sun, and beautiful armor.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे राक्षस सोने के आभूषणों से सजे घोड़ों, अग्नि की ज्वाला के समान चमकती ध्वजाओं, सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी रथों और मनोहर कवचों से सुसज्जित थे।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the material opulence and military grandeur of the Rakshasa army. Comparing their chariots to the sun and banners to fire illustrates their formidable presence. It reveals that Ravana's forces were highly organized, wealthy, and technologically superior. The mention of golden ornaments and beautiful armor points to an empire at its peak, whose physical splendor had unfortunately become the root of its hubris.
