प्रपीड्य शरवर्षेण राक्षसं भीमदर्शनम् ।
निजघान विरूपाक्षं शरेणैकेन लक्ष्मणः ॥६-४३-२७॥
prapīḍya śaravarṣeṇa rākṣasaṃ bhīmadarśanam |
nijaghāna virūpākṣaṃ śareṇaikena lakṣmaṇaḥ ॥6-43-27॥
Translation
Having tormented the terrible-looking Rakshasa Virupaksha with a shower of arrows, Lakshmana killed him with a single arrow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भयंकर दिखने वाले राक्षस विरूपाक्ष को बाणों की वर्षा से पीड़ित करके लक्ष्मण जी ने एक ही बाण से उसे मार गिराया।
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana's mastery of archery is evident here. He first disoriented the enemy with a volley of arrows and then finished him with one precise shot. This is a testament to his superior martial skills. For a deceptive warrior like Virupaksha, Shri Lakshmana's strike was as definitive as death itself.

श्री लक्ष्मण जी की धनुर्विद्या की निपुणता यहाँ स्पष्ट है। पहले उन्होंने शत्रु को बाण-वर्षा से विचलित किया और फिर एक अचूक बाण से उसका प्राणांत कर दिया। यह उनकी युद्ध-कला की श्रेष्ठता का प्रमाण है। विरूपाक्ष जैसे मायावी के लिए श्री लक्ष्मण का प्रहार साक्षात् काल के समान था।
