लाघवेन तु संयुक्तो विद्युन्माली निशाचरः ।
अपक्रम्य रथात्तूर्णं गदापाणिः क्षितौ स्थितः ॥६-४३-३९॥
lāghavena tu saṃyukto vidyunmālī niśācaraḥ |
apakramya rathāttūrṇaṃ gadāpāṇiḥ kṣitau sthitaḥ ॥6-43-39॥
Translation
Possessing agility, the night-stalker Vidyunmali quickly leaped down from the chariot and stood on the ground with a mace in his hand.
हिंदी अनुवाद
फूर्ती से युक्त निशाचर विद्युन्माली तुरंत रथ से उतर गया और हाथ में गदा लेकर भूमि पर खड़ा हो गया।
English Commentary
Vidyunmali proves to be a seasoned warrior. He did not panic when his chariot broke but showed agility ('Laghava') by descending to the ground with a mace. This indicates that the Rakshasas were also proficient in ground combat and wrestling. The nature of their duel has now shifted gears.
हिंदी टीका
विद्युन्माली एक कुशल योद्धा था। रथ टूटने पर वह डरा नहीं, बल्कि 'लाघव' (फूर्ती) दिखाते हुए भूमि पर आ गया। यह दर्शाता है कि राक्षस भी मल्ल-युद्ध और गदा-युद्ध में निपुण थे। अब युद्ध का स्वरूप बदल गया है।
