विदार्यमाणा हरिपुंगवैस्तदा निशाचराः शोणितदिग्धगात्राः ।
पुनः सुयुद्धं तरसा समास्थिता दिवाकरस्यास्तमयाभिकाङ्क्षिणः ॥६-४३-४८॥
vidāryamāṇā haripuṃgavaistadā niśācarāḥ śoṇitadigdhagātrāḥ |
punaḥ suyuddhaṃ tarasā samāsthitā divākarasyāstamayābhikāṅkṣiṇaḥ ॥6-43-48॥
Translation
Being torn apart by the foremost of monkeys and with their limbs smeared with blood, those night-stalkers, longing for the setting of the sun, began to fight again with great speed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वानर श्रेष्ठों द्वारा विदीर्ण किए गए और रक्त से लथपथ अंगों वाले वे निशाचर, सूर्य के अस्त होने की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए पुनः बड़े वेग से युद्ध करने लगे।
English Commentary
Rakshasas derive their greatest strength from the night, hence their longing for sunset. Despite being severely wounded and bloodied, their thirst for battle remains unquenched. This verse illustrates the demonic nature of seeking advantage in darkness, hoping to regain the upper hand as the sun disappears.

राक्षस अपनी शक्ति रात्रि में प्राप्त करते हैं, इसलिए वे सूर्य के अस्त होने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। यद्यपि वे घायल हैं और रक्त से सने हैं, फिर भी उनकी युद्ध-लिप्सा कम नहीं हुई है। यह श्लोक राक्षसों की उस प्रकृति को दर्शाता है जहाँ वे अंधकार का लाभ उठाकर पुनः प्रबल होने की आशा रखते हैं।
