YUDDHA KANDA•SARGA: 44•SHLOKA: 13
शङ्खवेणुस्वनोन्मिश्रः संबभूवाद्भुतोपमः ।
हतानां स्तनमानानां राक्षसानां च निःस्वनः ॥६-४४-१३॥
śaṅkhaveṇusvanonmiśraḥ saṃbabhūvādbhutopamaḥ |
hatānāṃ stanamānānāṃ rākṣasānāṃ ca niḥsvanaḥ ॥6-44-13॥
Translation
Mixed with the sounds of conches and flutes, the noise became eerie and wondrous. Amidst this, the cries of demons being killed and groaning were also heard.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शंख और बाँसुरी के स्वरों से मिश्रित वह शब्द अद्भुत सा हो गया। साथ ही मारे जाते हुए और कराहते हुए राक्षसों का स्वर भी सुनाई दे रहा था।
English Commentary
The paradox of war: on one side the 'wondrous' sound of musical instruments, and on the other, the screams of death. It presents a macabre blend of life and death.
