अन्योन्यं बद्धवैराणां घोराणां जयमिच्छताम् ।
संप्रवृत्तं निशायुद्धं तदा वानररक्षसाम् ॥६-४४-२॥
anyonyaṃ baddhavairāṇāṃ ghorāṇāṃ jayamicchatām |
saṃpravṛttaṃ niśāyuddhaṃ tadā vānararakṣasām ॥6-44-2॥
Translation
Then commenced the night-battle between the monkeys and the demons, who were locked in deep enmity, were terrifying in form, and were desperate for victory.
हिंदी अनुवाद
एक-दूसरे से घोर शत्रुता रखने वाले और विजय की अभिलाषा रखने वाले उन भयानक वानरों और राक्षसों का वह रात्रि-युद्ध तब आरंभ हुआ।
English Commentary
This verse describes the mindset of both armies. The phrases 'baddhavairāṇām' (deep-seated enmity) and 'jayamicchatām' (desiring victory) indicate that compromise is no longer an option. The night battle is not just a display of physical strength but a clash of wills. Despite the extreme difficulty of fighting in the dark, their intense desire for victory drives them forward.

यहाँ दोनों पक्षों की मानसिक स्थिति का वर्णन है। बद्धवैराणाम् (गहरी शत्रुता) और जयमिच्छताम् (विजय की इच्छा) वाक्यांश बताते हैं कि समझौता अब असंभव है। यह रात्रि-युद्ध केवल शारीरिक बल का प्रदर्शन नहीं, बल्कि संकल्पों का टकराव है। अन्धकार में युद्ध करना अत्यंत कठिन होता है, फिर भी विजय की तीव्र लालसा उन्हें रुकने नहीं देती।
