ते हयान् काञ्चनापीडान् ध्वजांश्चाग्निशिखोपमान् ।
आप्लुत्य दशनैस्तीक्ष्णैर्भीमकोपा व्यदारयन् ॥६-४४-७॥
te hayān kāñcanāpīḍān dhvajāṃścāgniśikhopamān |
āplutya daśanaistīkṣṇairbhīmakopā vyadārayan ॥6-44-7॥
Translation
Those monkeys, filled with terrifying anger, leapt up and tore apart the gold-adorned horses and flags resembling tongues of fire with their sharp teeth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भीषण कोप वाले उन वानरों ने उछलकर सुवर्णमय आभूषणों से युक्त घोड़ों और अग्नि की शिखा के समान चमकने वाली ध्वजाओं को अपने तीखे दाँतों से फाड़ डाला।
English Commentary
A description of the Vanara style of warfare. Lacking standard weapons, they use their claws and teeth. Destroying horses and flags is a strategy to cripple the enemy's mobility and morale. This furious form of the monkeys was terrifying even to the demons.

वानरों की युद्ध शैली का वर्णन। उनके पास शस्त्र नहीं हैं, वे अपने नख और दंतों का प्रयोग करते हैं। घोड़ों और ध्वजाओं को नष्ट करना शत्रु की गति और मनोबल को तोड़ने की रणनीति है। वानरों का यह रौद्र रूप राक्षसों के लिए भी भयप्रद था।
