Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
चकर्षुश्च ददंशुश्च दशनैः क्रोधमूर्च्छिताः ।
लक्ष्मणश्चापि रामश्च शरैराशीविषोपमैः ॥६-४४-९॥
cakarṣuśca dadaṃśuśca daśanaiḥ krodhamūrcchitāḥ |
lakṣmaṇaścāpi rāmaśca śarairāśīviṣopamaiḥ ॥6-44-9॥
Translation
Filled with rage, the monkeys dragged and bit the enemies with their teeth. Meanwhile, Shri Rama and Lakshmana also struck with arrows resembling venomous snakes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
क्रोध से भरे हुए वानर शत्रुओं को खींचने और दाँतों से काटने लगे। उधर श्री राम और लक्ष्मण भी विषधर सर्पों के समान बाणों से शत्रुओं का संहार करने लगे।
English Commentary
Here, two levels of battle are described: the primal combat of the monkeys and the archery skills of Shri Rama and Lakshmana. The simile 'ashivishopamaih' (like poisonous snakes) implies the unerring nature of their arrows and the certain death they bring.

यहाँ युद्ध के दो स्तरों का वर्णन है - एक ओर वानरों का पाशविक द्वंद्व और दूसरी ओर श्री राम-लक्ष्मण का धनुर्विद्या कौशल। आशीविषोपमैः (विषैले सर्पों के समान) उपमा बाणों की अचूकता और उनसे होने वाली निश्चित मृत्यु को दर्शाती है।
