Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तौ संप्रचलितौ वीरौ मर्मभेदेन कर्शितौ ।
निपेततुर्महेष्वासौ जगत्यां जगतीपती ॥६-४५-१८॥
tau saṃpracalitau vīrau marmabhedena karśitau |
nipetaturmaheṣvāsau jagatyāṃ jagatīpatī ॥6-45-18॥
Translation
Those two heroes, weakened by the piercing of their vital spots and staggering, the great archers and lords of the earth, fell onto the earth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मर्म स्थानों के बिंधने से कमजोर (कर्शित) हुए और विचलित हुए वे दोनों वीर, महान धनुर्धर और जगत के स्वामी (जगतीपती) पृथ्वी (जगत्याम्) पर गिर पड़े।
English Commentary
The verse highlights the tragic irony: the 'jagatipati' (Lords of the World) are lying helpless on the 'jagatyam' (ground). Despite being 'maheshvasau' (great archers), they succumb to the insidious attack. Being 'karshitau' (emaciated/weakened) by pain, their physical collapse marks a seeming victory for adharma.

विडंबना देखिये—जो पृथ्वी के स्वामी हैं, वे ही पृथ्वी पर गिरे पड़े हैं। मर्मभेदी बाणों ने उनकी शक्ति क्षीण कर दी। महान धनुर्धर होने के बावजूद, छल के आगे उनकी विद्या नहीं चली। यह दृश्य भक्तों के हृदय को द्रवित करने वाला है।
