तेषां वेगवतां वेगामिषुभिर्वेगवत्तरैः ।
अस्त्रवित्परमास्त्रैस्तु वारयामास रावणिः ॥६-४५-५॥
teṣāṃ vegavatāṃ vegāmiṣubhirvegavattaraiḥ |
astravitparamāstraistu vārayāmāsa rāvaṇiḥ ॥6-45-5॥
Translation
The son of Ravana (Indrajit), the knower of missiles, checked the speed of those swift monkeys with his supreme missiles and arrows that were even swifter.

अस्त्रों के ज्ञाता रावणपुत्र (इन्द्रजित) ने उत्तम अस्त्रों और अत्यधिक वेग वाले बाणों से उन वेगवान वानरों के वेग को रोक दिया।
English Commentary
Indrajit demonstrates his martial superiority here. Being an 'astravit' (expert in celestial weaponry), he counters the physical speed of the monkeys with the supernatural speed of his arrows. It highlights the disparity between the primal strength of the Vanaras and the sophisticated, magical warfare of the Rakshasa prince.

यहाँ इन्द्रजित के कौशल का वर्णन है। वह दिव्य अस्त्रों का ज्ञाता है। उसने वानरों की शारीरिक गति को अपने बाणों की गति से परास्त कर दिया। यह भौतिक बल और दैवीय अथवा मायावी अस्त्रों के बीच का संघर्ष था, जिसमें मायावी शक्ति हावी हो रही थी। इन्द्रजित ने उन्हें श्री राम तक पहुँचने या उसे खोजने से पहले ही आकाश में रोक दिया।
