अस्पृष्ट्वा शयनं गात्रैस्त्रियामा याति शर्वरी ।
कृत्स्नं यत्कृते लङ्का नदी वर्षास्विवाकुला ॥६-४६-१५॥
aspṛṣṭvā śayanaṃ gātraistriyāmā yāti śarvarī |
kṛtsnaṃ yatkṛte laṅkā nadī varṣāsvivākulā ॥6-46-15॥
Translation
Because of whom his (my father's) nights passed without sleep, and because of whom all of Lanka was as agitated as a river in the rainy season—
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिनके कारण (मेरे पिता की) रातें बिना सोए बीत जाती थीं और जिनके कारण पूरी लंका वर्षा ऋतु की नदी के समान व्याकुल (अशांत) थी—
English Commentary
This verse describes the psychological state of Lanka. Shri Rama's arrival had turned Lanka's luxury into restlessness. The comparison to a turbulent river in the monsoon shows that the Rakshasas' lives were no longer secure. Indrajit believes he has eliminated the root cause of that widespread agitation.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक लंका की मनोवैज्ञानिक स्थिति का वर्णन करता है। श्री राम के आने से लंका का वैभव अशांति में बदल गया था। वर्षा ऋतु की नदी के समान व्याकुल होना यह दर्शाता है कि राक्षसों का जीवन अब सुरक्षित नहीं था। इन्द्रजित को लगता है कि उसने उस अशांति के मूल कारण को ही समाप्त कर दिया है।
