त्रिभिस्त्रिभिरमित्रघ्नस्ताप प्रवरेषुभिः ।
जाम्बवन्तं महेष्वासो विद्वा बाणेन वक्षसि ॥६-४६-१९॥
tribhistribhiramitraghnastāpa pravaraiṣubhiḥ |
jāmbavantaṃ maheṣvāso vidvā bāṇena vakṣasi ॥6-46-19॥
Translation
That great archer (Indrajit), the destroyer of foes, inflicted three wounds each on them with excellent arrows and also pierced Jambavan in the chest with an arrow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं का हनन करने वाले उस महान धनुर्धर (इन्द्रजित) ने श्रेष्ठ बाणों से उन सबको तीन-तीन घाव दिए और जाम्बवान के वक्षस्थल पर भी बाण मारा।
English Commentary
Striking an elder and experienced warrior like Jambavan shows that Indrajit has no respect for anyone. He only desires destruction. The epithet 'Amitraghna' confirms his destructive persona. He is attempting to shake the very pillars of the Vanara army.

जाम्बवान जैसे वृद्ध और अनुभवी योद्धा पर प्रहार करना यह दिखाता है कि इन्द्रजित के मन में किसी के प्रति सम्मान नहीं है। वह केवल विनाश करना चाहता है। 'अमित्रघ्न' विशेषण यहाँ उसके संहारक रूप को पुष्ट करता है। वह वानर सेना के स्तम्भों को हिलाने का प्रयास कर रहा है।
