स हर्षवेगातुगतान्तरात्मा श्रुत्वा वचस्तस्य महारथस्य ।
जहौ ज्वरं दाशरथेः समुत्थितं प्रहृष्य वाचाभिननन्द पुत्रम् ॥६-४६-५०॥
sa harṣavegātugatāntarātmā śrutvā vacastasya mahārathasya |
jahau jvaraṃ dāśaratheḥ samutthitaṃ prahṛṣya vācābhinananda putram ॥6-46-50॥
Translation
Hearing the words of that great car-warrior (Indrajit), Ravana's heart was filled with a surge of joy. The mental fever/anguish caused by Shri Rama left him, and being delighted, he praised his son with words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस महारथी इन्द्रजित के वचनों को सुनकर रावण का हृदय हर्ष के वेग से भर गया। श्री राम के कारण उत्पन्न उसका मानसिक संताप (ज्वर) दूर हो गया और उसने प्रसन्न होकर वाणी से अपने पुत्र का अभिनंदन किया।
English Commentary
The word 'Jvara' (fever) refers to the profound anxiety Ravana suffered due to his fear of Shri Rama. He feels that the danger has finally passed. His verbal praise is the satisfaction of his ego. This sarga concludes the contrast between the false jubilation of Lanka and the genuine resilience being mustered within the Vanara army.

यहाँ 'ज्वर' शब्द का प्रयोग रावण की उस गहरी व्याकुलता के लिए किया गया है जो श्री राम के प्रति उसके भय से उत्पन्न हुई थी। उसे लगा कि अब वह संकट टल गया है। उसकी वाणी से अभिनंदन करना उसके अहंकार की तुष्टि है। यह सर्ग लंका के झूठे उल्लास और वानर सेना के वास्तविक धैर्य के बीच के संघर्ष को पूर्ण करता है।
