तौ वीरशयने वीरौ शयानौ मन्दचेष्टितौ ।
यूथपैस्तैः परिवृतौ बाष्पव्याकुललोचनैः ॥६-४६-६॥
tau vīraśayane vīrau śayānau mandaceṣṭitau |
yūthapaistaiḥ parivṛtau bāṣpyavyākulalocanaiḥ ॥6-46-6॥
Translation
Those two heroes, lying on the hero's bed with faint movements, were surrounded by those troop-leaders whose eyes were overwhelmed with tears.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वीरशय्या पर सोए हुए उन अल्प-चेष्टा वाले दोनों वीरों को उन यूथपतियों (सेनापतियों) ने घेर लिया, जिनके नेत्र आंसुओं से व्याकुल थे।
English Commentary
In the language of warriors, lying wounded on the battlefield is termed 'Vira-shayana' (hero's bed). The commanders surrounding them signifies both their protective instinct and their immense reverence. Their tear-filled eyes reveal that for the Vanaras, Shri Rama is not just a king, but the very foundation of their existence.

युद्धभूमि में वीरगति या आहत होने को 'वीरशयन' कहा जाता है। वानर सेनापतियों का उन्हें घेर कर खड़े होना उनकी सुरक्षा और उनके प्रति अपार श्रद्धा को दर्शाता है। आंसुओं से भरे नेत्र यह प्रकट करते हैं कि वानरों के लिए श्री राम केवल एक राजा नहीं, बल्कि उनके प्राणों के आधार हैं।
